My Trip Begins. Thank You for taking time out of your busy day to view and read what I have to say about Islam in Russia, China, and India. From 9/11 to "Innocence of Muslims", the conversation about Islam has never ceased. As Americans, and perhaps as humans, we do a small, inner double take when we see a man with a rough beard and “kufi” in the subway, a woman with a hijab driving a car, or a man reciting the Koran as he takes his 30 minute lunch break from his halal cart. Media has tinted/colored our perception of Islam through dark and light filters conveyed through newspaper and television. Within the three months that I am abroad, I intend to capture Islam using photography as a lens. With select images, I hope to open an exhibit in Babson College’s Glavin Chapel of Multi-Cultural Faith for the community to view...so please comment on any pictures that you think are amazing or needs work. I am open to change! :)
Mosaic Art of Islamic Mosques
Look! Complicated mosaic muqarnas in what may be the mihrab iwan of the Islamic temple! Art history is great…
